Sanctification Simplified

11/24/13: Sanctification is a religious word that has been source of some confusion in its definition.

For clarification, when we are born again, we are 100% righteous by faith and 0% sanctified. We have right relationship with God through faith in Christ and by the Grace of God. However there are many things yet to be improved in our lives. The improvements fall under the category of sanctification, a process of becoming more Christ like. These improvements will occur by the Grace of God and our willingness to make the changes. In short, sanctification means to have our life cleaned up. This process will continue over the remainder of our life time.

It recently occurred to me that the process of sanctification is simplified when we are willing to allow the following three scriptures to be agreed with and operational in our lives.

#1: Let the words of your mouth and the meditations of your heart be acceptable unto God. Psalm 19:14: “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my rock and my Redeemer.”

#2:Everything you do in word and deed, do in the name of Jesus. Colossians 3:17: “ Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.”

#3: Let this mind be in you that is in Christ Jesus. The W.W.J.D wrist bands were popular way of remembrance. What Would Jesus Do? Philippians 2:5: “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.”

Easy to remember, but a continual challenge to become operational in our lives.
