USGA Senior Open Experience

7/12/12 Howard Twitty and I were at Indianwood in Lake Orion, MI last Monday through Wednesday for the practice rounds and opportunity to share our grooved grip technology. The interest is growing. Tom Lehman called home to get identical putter for the grip. Peter Jacobson put it on his second driver to try. Tom Byrum put it on his putter and shot 70. Jeff Sluman has it on long putter for 4th week and opened with mnus three. Brad Faxon spent 1.5 hours with Howard and I on the SAM puttlab and wants the grip for next week. Gary Hallberg opened with one under his second week with grooved grip technology.

However the big news was Tom Kite shooting 28 on the front nine. He was 7 under going into 17 and made a 5 on this par 3 for 65. His putting stat was 1.39 putts average for greens hit in regulation. Amazing stat for his third week using the groove grip technology.

Padraig Harrington made big news as reported to us, yet unconfirmed, that the turnaround in his play is due to putting tips from Howard Twitty and the use of the grooved golf grip on his putter. His putting stats which were his worst the last two years are now his best and he has contended in most every tournament, including the USGA National Open.
