A new Reuters survey found that one in 10 people believe the end of the world will occur in 2012, and one in seven believe the world will end in their lifetimes. The basis of these beliefs are the Mayan writings and “what ever” evidence there is that the world is going to hell in a hand basket.
One of the ancient references states that no one will know the day or the hour of the end of the age, only the Lord God of Israel. That makes predictions of the end of the world as we know it futile. Notice I used the plural as there have been so many misses on prediction on the end of the age. There are some events that may help one know the season, but not the day or hour. These events are outlined in Matthew Chapter 24. The best approach is to be ready spiritually. By this I mean related to God through Jesus Christ and being confessed up of sin and holding nothing against anyone. “I will keep in perfect peace whose mind is fixed upon Me”, thus sayeth the Lord.(Isaiah 26:3)
