10/30/2013: This has been a good year for Grooved Golf Grips (GGG) on PGA tours. On the regular tour, Camilo Villegas made a come back after two not so good years. He played with GGG on driver, putter, and utility clubs. He finished 82nd in earnings and has card for next year.

Vijay Singh had GGG on all 13 clubs for 4 weeks. It is a mid size cord prototype. His 2nd place finish 2 weeks ago was his best in 5 years. He was number 1 in greens in regulation that week. As we understand it he plans to use them going forward.

On the Champions tour the big news was related primarily to those using he GGG putter grip. Mark Wiebe won the British Senior Open. Jeff Sluman won in 3 weeks after putting them on and shot 62 shortly thereafter. Sluman has grips on wedges and putter. Bill Glasson shot 61 at Rock Barn. These scores do not happen absent good putting. Gil Morgan has it on driver and putter. Bobby Clampett has it on putter and now show high finishes at end of the year.

This week Fred Funk put our new “lites out” grip on his putter for Schwab Cup this week. He did the same thing last year. Rod Spittle put “lites out” on putter at Rock Barn after poor 1st round putting and shot 2 scores in the 60’s. He wondered why he did not do it sooner. I agreed with him.

Many other players are using the grips in a variety of ways. They use GGG on driver, utility or wedges or putter. Then they ask me, “Why not put them on all clubs.”

I respond by saying, “You would have to tell me”.

More and more players seeing the benefit at this high level of competition and have asked for GGG to try in the off season.
