7/25/12 As we review the last couple weeks use of the grooved golf grip on the PGA tours, we have witnessed breakthrough performances. Foremost was Tom Kite’s USGA Championship record setting 28 on first nine holes. This was his 3rd week to use the grooved grip technology on the long putter while making 7 birdies in first 9 holes. In the second round he recorded at 31 on the back nine.

Two players who normally do not contend, put the standard grip on short putter and both made the cut at USGA Senior Open.

Doug LaBelle has used the 65 durometer, 60 gram grip on all clubs this year. Last week he played with new clubs and left these grips on his three wedges. He won last week on the WEB.COM tour (formerly Nationnwide) It was his first win in 6 years. This week we saw him in Columbus, OH and he took a set of the 54 gram, 50 durometer grips to put on his clubs as well as the standard putter grip.

The grooved golf grip has certainly played a role in performance break though. www.PrescriptionGolf.com/PutterGrip.
