11/14/12: The grooved golf grip’s was in play on all three of the PGA Tours. The results were gratifying. Some examples are as follows:
Player #1: This player had the putter grip in play since May 2012 and finished the year in 4th in strokes gained putting.
Player #2: Player had putter grip in play since May. Contended in majors and won Tournament of Champions.
Player #3: He ranked 30+ in both putting stats in 2011. Using the grooved grip technology since May he finished the year ranked 8th and 10th respectively in putting stats.
Player #4: He went from a 40th plus ranking in putting to T 18 first week with grooved golf grip on putter and T13 the 2nd week.
Player #5: He used long putter conventional grip until May. Switched to grooved grip technology for 4 tournaments and then to short putter with conventional grip. Interesting stats showed he averaged 22nd place with first stint with best putting stats a tie for 16.. His average was higher the next 4 weeks with the grooved grip technology, but it was due to T77th. He had tie for 1st, 3rd, and 9th. The one week ran the average up, but players out there are not looking for average 22, but some low numbers that can win. With the short putter with conventional grip at the end of the year he averaged 45th in putting. I was working with him on his putting and it becomes even more clear the issue is TECHNIQUE AND TECHNOLOGY. His aim was not good, so he switched to grooved grip technology on short putter and corrected the problems in both areas.
Player #6: He had used the grooved grip technology since June; first on belly putter and then of the short putter. He came over at end of year event to verify his putting stroke on the SAM PuttLab machine. He wanted to see his status relative to the grooved grip’s potential to enhance aim and direction of the putter face at impact.
EFFECT OF USE OF GROOVED GRIP ON PUTTER
PGA CHAMPIONS TOUR PLAYER
Evidence supports the benefit of grooved golf grip on putter all year by PGA Tour Player. I was thinking today what would make some compelling evidence of the value of the grooved grip technology. Suddenly it occurred to me the results of a Champion player who had used the technology all year on his putter. First it was the belly putter and now the shorter putter, but same grooved grip technology. He came over to check his stroke on the SAMPutt LAB a week on Tour in North Carolina.
The following are his amazing evidence of what the groove grip technology will do to the PGA player’s putting stroke. It should be noted that with this technology and this technique his putting stats the next three days were:
NUMBER PUTTS: 28.7 AVERAGE PER ROUND AND 12TH
PUTTS WHEN HIT GREEN IN REGULATION: 1.72 AND 14TH
THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS DESERVE CAREFUL INSPECTION
AIM: His aim average was dead on at 0.0, but he had a little spread between each putt, but all were within 1 degree of perfect.
DIRECTION OF PUTTER FACE AT IMPACT: He was 0.1 degree open on average and every impact direction was almost perfect for consistency.
PUTTER PATH: His putter path as viewed from above was identical for each putt as seen from the top view. The direction average was 0.7 degrees to the right and very consistent.
FACE ANGLE: His face angle of the putter face was virtually square to the arc at all points and very consistent.
