Vijay Singh’s improved putting is a marvel

2/19/2015: Vijay Singh”s scoring average before this week was 71.17. His putting statistics were -1.264 (yes, minus) strokes behind the average of the other players.

He put on the Lites Out ™ 2015 grooved golf grip for this week at PGA tour event. This putter grip is a very light 44 grams.

There were no lessons and not change in technique, only a performance grip change.

He shot 67 in the first round with putting stats of +1.763 for a difference of 3.027 strokes gained on the other players from his average to his results in round one. A huge turn around with only changing to a putter grip that enhances performance.

Round 2: 74 with strokes gained putting plus 0.542 versus the average player’s stat of minus .022.

Round 3: 69 with strokes gained putting plus 0.773. He missed two makable putts on 17 and 18.

Round 4: 72 with 4 over on 15,16,17 or he wins tournament. He was plus 0.353 on putts gained on the field.

Summary:Contended for first time in long time. Putting stats were major improvement with Grooved putter grip.

On the Golf Channel Today and Tomorrow

10/21/20: Golf Channel showing was 7:30 pm tonight on Champions Learning Center. It will be shown again at 2:30 am EST and again Wednesday at 3:30 pm EST. The filming was done at Rock Barn last week and included Chip Beck who I was working with on his putting. He scored better and putted better in the tournament than he had previous weeks.

I will miss all the shows as I am traveling. I hope to get a copy.

Over 3 million in PGA winnings for Grooved Golf Grips

9/5/2014: PGA players who are the early adopters using the grooved golf grip have won a cumulative total of more than 3 million dollars in the last year. Camilo Villegas win puts his total above $1,000,000. This total included Vijay Singh’s and Marco Dawson’s more than $500,000 each. Jeff Sluman and Mark Wiebe’s wins and showings are among the many other users who have placed high in tournaments. The grand total is above 3 million when adding in the many more early adopters.

Golf Grips on Sale?

1st PGA Tour Win

8/17/2014: 1st PGA Tour Win for GroovedGolfGrip. Camilo Villegas shot 17 under and wins at Greensburo. He had 63 on last round. He has used the Grooved Putter Grip* for past two years. Great Results on Champions Tour with Grooved Golf Grip

8/6/2014: Marco Dawson finished tied for third. He shot 63 the first day. This is his first year on the Champions Tour. He has 3 top tens in the Majors. He has won $421,461 so far this year. This exceeds the sum of the last three years of $393,816. Oh yes, he uses the grooved putter grip.

Fred Funk put on the new Tour prototype 44 gram putter grip and had 15 birdies in 3 rounds and 67 on last day with no bogies. Hal Sutton put he same grip on putter for first time and shot 14 birdies in the 3 rounds. Many other players asked for the grip. Their age group was used to a 350 gram Anser look alike putter head and a 60 gram grip. In recent years, the companies have gone to 400 gram heads and 90 to 100 gram grips.
