6/13/12 I have confidence that God answers prayer, most often with what I have come to understand as a response. (see prior entry)
The Word says in 1 John 5:14-15: “And this is the confidence that we have in Him, if we ask anything according to His Will, he heareth us, and if we know that he hears us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him.” KJV
So the issue becomes NOT IF, BUT WHEN.
This brings to my mind a experience several years ago when an important event happened in my life. I inquired of God the reason. He said it was an answer to your Grandmother Johnson’s prayer. I countered by saying that she has been dead for thirty years. God responded by saying, “Yes, but she laid that prayer at the Mercy seat when she was alive. The prayer for you was just answered.”
You see it is NOT IF, BUT WHEN. This should encourage us, especially grandparents to lay up prayers to our children’s and grandchildren’s and our genetic linage beyond.
